Betty J. Border, age 95, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Reid Health.

Born September 7, 1925, in Akron, Indiana, to Jack and Lillian Flohr, Betty lived in Wayne County, Indiana, most of her life. She was a 1943 graduate of Akron High School. Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church in Richmond. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Widowed Persons Service, and Richmond Senior Community Center. Betty enjoyed taking trips to Florida and Branson, Missouri, and listening to the Gaithers. She loved flowers and birds.

Survivors include her daughters, Jane E. (Dennis) Born of Columbus, Ohio, and Susan M. Norris of Richmond; grandchildren, Karrah (Jimmy) Brown, Amber (Daniel) Thornton, Nickoll Haughn, Catrena Sizemore, Kallean Sizemore, and Timothy Norris; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Mike) Della Rosa of Raleigh, North Carolina; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Chelsea W. Border, who died November 23, 2004; parents; sister, Mary Mae Henderson; and brothers, Richard, Charles, and Bruce Flohr.

Visitation for Betty J. Border will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Chalk officiating. Please plan to wear your own mask in the funeral home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
