Beatrice “Bea” Marie Beck Morgan went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, December 26, 2020, after suffering a debilitating stroke. She was surrounded by family and friends who love her and who will miss her.

Bea was born to Charles R. Beck and Rena Lyons Beck at the Beck home on South Street in Liberty, Indiana on May 16, 1931. She attended Liberty schools for ten years and graduated from McGuffey High School in Oxford, Ohio after attending school there for two years. She married Hugh Morgan in 1950. In 1957 Hugh and Bea, with three rambunctious tykes in tow, purchased a home on West High Street in Liberty and there built a life and a family they both loved.

Bea had worked at the Liberty Restaurant and McNurney’s Five and Dime store before becoming the Palladium Item’s distribution agent for the town of Liberty, a job she held for over twenty-five years. She was a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout leader during her children’s scouting years. Bea was very involved in community activities, in several antique machinery clubs in Indiana and Ohio, and with her beloved husband Hugh, a square dance caller, travelling the area around Liberty helping teach traditional square dancing and line dancing. She was also a world-class cookie baker, according to her children and grand children.

Bea was a Past Noble Grand in the Daughters of Rebekah Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and in her life she exemplified the best ideals of the Order: kindness, hospitality, loyalty, patriotism, and love of God and of humankind.

She is survived by her son, Mike (Candous) of Woodbury, Tennessee; her daughter, Donna Kay of Liberty; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hugh, her son Mark of Florida, a grand-daughter Melinda, also of Florida, as well as her four siblings, Harold and Robert Beck, Martha Beck, and Helen Martin.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Bea’s residence, 405 W. High St. in Liberty. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.

Memorial contributions in memory of Bea can be made to Margaret Mary Health Hospice.
