Barbara Ann Groce, 73, of New Castle passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 25, 1947 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Fred and Margie (Vitatoe) Smith.
Barbara owned and operated Barb’s All American Family Restaurant for many years. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed camping and fishing. Mostly, she loved being with her family and was dedicated to them.
She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Teresa Pierce, Jim (Beverly) Groce, and Stacey (Chad) Whitehead, all of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Eddie (Derek) Pierce, Josh (Alicia) Groce, Matthew Pierce, Lacee (Dustin) Lanzer, Jessie Cowan (William Moore), Shelby (Brandon) Hall, Kacee (Brandon) Wolfe, and Chase Whitehead; seven great grandchildren; a special niece, Lisa Holcomb of Evansville and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie “JR” Groce; sister, Doris Ballenger and son in law, Eddie Pierce.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Edward Pierce, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
