Barbara Ann Brown Showalter, 66, Richmond, was called home to be with Jesus on Nov. 8, 2021. She was born July 2, 1955 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Keith C. and Phyllis (Pohlar) Brown. She lived in Indiana, Illinois, and Florida. She bravely fought cancer for 14 years.
Barb was the mother of Kristy (Jerry) Woodall and Eric Showalter of south Florida. She leaves behind her sister Teresa (Ralph) Downs, brother Jerry (Gail) Brown, nieces Sarah Downs and Laura (Jeff) Turner, nephews Brian (Jess) Esham, Rick (Daphne) Brown, Robert (Dawn) Brown. She also will be remembered by 5 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews.
Barb held different positions throughout her professional career including secretary and copy machine repair technician. She loved playing games and cards with the family, traveling, baking beautiful cakes & pies, going to garage sales, and designing sequin ornament kits to sell in her eBay store. Barb loved singing competitively in Sweet Adeline’s, for fun with karaoke, and in church. Since returning to the community from Florida last year, Barb was a very active member of the Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene.
Pastor Doug Shilts will officiate a homegoing ceremony at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 13, at the Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be in Elkhorn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 13, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Williamsburg Church of the Nazarene, PO Box 707, Williamsburg, IN 47393.
