Amon Magee Logan, 90, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 30, 2020 to join his wife, Iona Ruth Wilson Logan who passed March 20, 2020. They were blessed to spend 70 years together.
He was born on April 17, 1934 in Knox County, Kentucky to Josh and Stella Hill Logan.
He farmed and operated a coal mine before moving his family to Connersville. In 1952, he was hired in at Rex. In 1988, he retired from Ford after 36 years.
Amon loved spending time with his grandchildren. Their special memories were camping and fishing. Reflecting on Grandpa’s phrase, “We’re camping,” – The phrase had a broader meaning of being able to free your mind of distress from not having everyday conveniences and live in the moment, making do with what you have. “That’s camping.” We are holding on to memories. Grandpa and Grandma have the best campsite imaginable.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Tommy) Blair and Pam (Brian) Logan, all of Connersville; eight grandchildren, Louis (Crystal) Frank of Connersville, Kevin (Donna) Frank of Indianapolis, Belinda (Josh) Hobbs of Greenfield, Tara (Brian) Overman of Richmond, Karen (Bob) Thomas of Connersville, Desirae Feeback (Arlin Spivey) of Connersville, Wyatt Keegan of Connersville, Jesse Clayton of Connersville; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Janice Logan of Connersville and Rosie Logan of Berea, Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Iona Ruth Logan, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda K. Logan; five brothers, Charlie, Delbert, Will Kay, Emanuel, and Earl; two sisters, Maude Wells and Edna Wells; and a son-in-law, Louis E. Frank.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2020 at Dale Cemetery. Pastor Rodney Anderson will officiate the service. Miller, Moster, Robbins has been entrusted with the arrangements.
