Alberta R. Amrhein, 92, of Connersville passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Reid Health in Richmond.
One of twelve children of Peter V. and Laurina Schreiner Schneider, Alberta was born in Morris, Indiana on March 14, 1929.
On September 9, 1950, Alberta married Walter J. Amrhein in Morris. They made Connersville their home the following year. Mr. Amrhein passed away on February 15, 2001.
Alberta was employed at Visteon in Connersville, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and in her leisure time enjoyed playing cards, gardening, growing flowers, and spending time with her family. Alberta also enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include four children, Lois Barry of Carmel, Indiana, Phyllis (Ernie) Schwegman of Brookville, Indiana, Debbie (Greg) Gesell of Birmingham, Alabama, and Dennis (Lisa) Amrhein of Connersville; nine grandchildren, Danielle (Mason) Hunter, John Bennett, Joni (Ben) Goins, Beth (Matt) Perrine, Rachelle (Michael) Butts, Joshua Schwegman, Brian (Megan) Gesell, Elizabeth (Kyle) Hauger, Christina (Robert) Ybarra; eighteen great-grandchildren, Ava Hunter, Cody Hauger, Kaylee Hauger, Cole Butts, Cameron Butts, Ellie Bennett, Jill Hunter, Hudson Goins, William Hunter, Mimi Bennett, Madelyn Goins, Nolan Goins, Walter Perrine, Paige Perrine, Celia Gesell, Beau Gesell, Everett Gesell, Timothy Ybarra; two step-granddaughters, Rockie Traugott and Dabney Perrine ; five step-great-grandchildren, Kent (Christina) Kassenbrock, Casey (Celeste) Kassenbrock, Allie (Blair) Kassenbrock, Jack Traugott, Robert (Kitana) Ybarra III; six siblings, Quirn Schneider, Joan Amrhein, Lillian (Richard) Lay, Lawrence Schneider, Sister Laurina Schneider, Paul (Judy) Schneider; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her husband of 50 years, Walter J. Amrhein, Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Peter Schneider, Earl Schneider, Herbert Schneider, Alvina Flaspohler, and Helen Grover; and a son-in-law, Tim Barry.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately for the family at St. Gabriel Church by Reverend Dustin Boehm. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
