Warren E. Hill, 96, of New Castle, formerly of Wilkinson, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Sunday, June 28, 2020. He was born on December 3, 1923 in Oxford, Indiana.

Warren graduated from Charlottesville High School where he was a great athlete and basketball player. He was a proud veteran and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Warren was very active in the New Castle United Methodist Church and the former Wilkinson United Methodist Church, Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis Club and the community of Wilkinson. He worked as a machine operator for Delco – Remy and retired after 43 years. A few of his favorite pastimes were golfing, woodworking and playing Euchre with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 74 years, Betty E. (Kinnaman) Hill; four children, Marion Warren (wife: Marisol) Hill; Leah Jean (husband; Rodney) Shelby, Patricia Elaine (husband: Jim) Nawa, Ralph Edwin (wife: Lucy) Hill; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Howard, Pauline, Richard, Marvin, Mary Alice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Raintree Habitat for Humanity or the Kiwanis Club of New Castle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Sproles Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown with military honors.

Friends may call from 4 – 8 pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
