Ted L. Lenigar, age 83, of New Paris, Ohio, died Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Reid Health. Born May 29, 1936 in Hollister, OH he was the son of the late Delmar W. & Edith B. (Roberts) Lenigar.
Ted retired from Transilwrap Company, Inc. in Richmond, IN in 1996. He loved playing and coaching baseball and softball, bowling and horseshoe. Enjoyed watching his grandchildren playing sports. Member of Jefferson Township Boosters, Wetzel Family Bowling League, Metropolitan Bowling League, C & C Amusement Bowling League, Richmond Optimist Horseshoe league and the Richmond Optimist Softball League.
Preceded in death by wife of 33 years Judith Sue (Rodefer) Lenigar in 1993; granddaughter: Kanda Sue Louden in 1982; brothers: Billy Lenigar and Jimmy Lenigar; brothers-in-law: Buddy White, Donnie Bolin, Cecil Himes; sisters-in-law: Bonnie Smith, Gladys Lenigar; Nephews: Conley Rodefer and Matthew Rodefer.
Survivors: daughter: Teresa S. (Lenigar) Frist; son: James W. Lenigar both of New Paris, OH; Sisters: Donna J. White and Sharon K. Bolin both of Richmond, IN; Brother: Robert H. (Bob) Lenigar of Port Orange, FL; sister-in-law: Connie Himes of Liberty, IN; brothers-in-law: William (Norma) Rodefer of Venice, FL, Johnny (Sue) Rodefer of Climax, KY and Howard (Bel) Rodefer of Liberty, IN. Grandchildren: Kimberly & Mike Howard, Krystal Frist, Amy Frist, Brad Frist, Dezraree & Steve Lenigar Coates; Sheyenne & Tony Ivy, Megan & Nick Malicoat-Wrenn; Austen Lenigar; great grandchildren: Bryson J., Kanda L., Kaydee M. Tristan, Ashtyn, Jillian, Clayton, Daulton, Jordan, Hanna, Scotty, and Renee. Nephews, Nieces and many loving friends.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday March 19, 2020 at Barnes Funeral Home – 109 West Main Street New Paris, Ohio. The funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 20, 2020 with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery, New Paris.
