Richard F. “Dick” Werner, age 63, passed away on August 22, 2020 at his home. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on January 6, 1957 to Henry R. and Colleen Blickwedel Werner. Dick grew up in the south end of Richmond and as a youth he “lived and breathed” scouting. He was an Eagle Scout and as an adult was an assistant scout master.

He graduated from Richmond High School in the class of 1975. He received a degree in Computer Science from Indiana University in Bloomington where he was a member of TKE Fraternity. He was a former member of St. John Lutheran church and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Dick was an avid reader, he enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed playing card and board games and he usually won. He lived in Phoenix, AZ for 20 years where he was a Senior Programmer Analyst for American Express. When he returned to Richmond, he became a tax representative.

Dick is survived by his mother Colleen Werner; brother Eric (Deborah) Werner of Indianapolis; 3 nieces Allison Werner, Elizabeth (Ryan) Archer and Lauren (Trent) Griswold; 4 great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins including special aunt Marilyn Werner Adkins. He is preceded in death by his father Henry R. Werner; grandparents Karl and Pauline Werner, Fred and Flora Blickwedel and aunts and uncles.

Memorial service and Interment in Lutherania Cemetery will be held at a later date. Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions in Dick’s name may be given to Morrison-Reeves Library, 80 N 6th St. Richmond, IN or the Community Food Pantry, 306 N 19th St. Richmond, IN.
