Phillip Anthony Keesling, 59 of Straughn, Indiana, left to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2020.
He was born in Henry County, Indiana on September 11, 1960 to Roscoe and Reba Keesling. Phillip was the third of four boys. He is survived by his three brothers, Alan Keesling of Richmond, IN, Mark Keesling of Madison, NC, and Eric Keesling of Straughn, IN.
Phillip graduated from Tri-High School in 1978 and shortly after settled in Straughn where he started his career in farming. Phillip went on to develop a lifelong love of farming and committed his life to making things grow, whether that be soy beans, corn, or relationships.
Family meant everything to Phillip. He is also survived by his three children, Amber Keesling of Straughn (boyfriend, Charles Wallace of Muncie), Andrew Keesling of Dublin (girlfriend, Marissa Sullivan of Dublin) and Aaron Keesling of Dublin. Recently, Phillip welcomed his first grandchild, Jaxson, (Andrew’s son). There couldn’t be a more proud grandfather and most of his free time was spent making Jaxson smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Reba Keesling, and sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Keesling and Cathy Keesling.
Phillip would host holidays in his home where he could always be found in the kitchen cooking for everyone – a quality that he got from his mother. Recently, he had started working alongside his two sons at JS Transportation out of Kansas City. He enjoyed being on the road and making friends at every stop along the way.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Grace Baptist Church in New Castle with Pastor Denny Neal officiating. Burial will follow in New Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 – 8pm, Friday, June 19, 2020 at Sproles Family Funeral Home.
