Max Bahnweg, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Reid Health.

Born March 17, 1942, in New York, New York, to Max E. and Mary Gladosky Bahnweg Sr., Max was a 1960 graduate of East Huntington High School in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Max moved to Richmond in 1960. He worked as an Inventory Control Clerk for Kemper Cabinets from 1962 to 1998, where he was a member of the Kemper 25-Year Club. Retired, he took great pride in driving for Hand-in-Hand Adult Day Care of Richmond from 2004 to 2011. Max enjoyed electronics, stamp and coin collecting, working outside around the home, and music.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ruth Ann Sheley Bahnweg; son, Stephen (Chrissy) Bahnweg of Eaton, Ohio; grandsons, Finnley and Cashton Bahnweg; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Groler; father, Max Bahnweg Sr.; brother, James Bahnweg; and twin grandchildren, Zhane and Zophia Bahnweg.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we regret to inform you that services for Max Bahnweg will be private with Deacon Jim Miller officiating. The service will be recorded and available on the Doan & Mills Funeral Home website. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
