Marjorie Lee Genevieve Huffman (née Johnson), age 92, of Centerville, Indiana, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Ambassador Healthcare.

Marjorie was born to Elmer Johnson and Lilly Fay Lephart on August 26, 1928, and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Robert Young Sr. She was known affectionately as “Margie” by her sisters, Alma, Gloria, and Peggy and brother, Bobby. Alongside her late husband, Robert Huffman Sr. and her closest personal friends, Marjorie joyfully contributed five decades of devoted service as a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she was a longtime Sunday School and Bible School teacher. Marjorie loved the Lord and her church family with all her heart, and she remained a faithful servant throughout her life, until health issues limited her physical abilities. Marjorie also served her local community as a longtime radiology clerk at Reid Memorial Hospital. She was known for her infectious, positive, and radiant personality and was always quick to offer a hug or hold a hand in need. A truly joyful spirit, Marjorie shined her light and showed love to the world and community around her, living her life simply and as an embodiment of Matthew 5:14, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

Marjorie is survived by and will be greatly missed by her two sons, Errol Huffman Sr. and Larry Huffman Sr.; grandchildren, Errol (Elizabeth) Huffman Jr., Frances Mundhenk, Kyle (Mindie) Miller, Larry (Carrie) Huffman Jr., Christine (Travis) Fuerst, and Les (Natalie) Huffman; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and Hillcrest Baptist Church family and countless Sunday School children throughout the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; three sisters, Gloria Heniscey, Alma Showalter, and Peggy Hengstler; brother, Robert Young Jr.; and newborn, infant grandchild.

A remembrance service will be planned for the spring. Arrangements will be coordinated through Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
