Madge Virginia Blevins Thompson went to her eternal home on September 5, 2020.

Madge was born to Burgywn and Lola Blevins on October 12, 1929 in Hagerstown, IN. She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1947. She then moved to Indianapolis and took a job as a switchboard operator at The Gibson Company where she met her husband Clement (Tommy) Thompson. They were married August 29, 1958 and made their home in Indianapolis. She was a homemaker and mother to two children and two stepchildren until she was widowed in 1989. She enjoyed working at Macy’s for the last 25 years of her life as well as being a Grammy to 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Clement O. Thompson, stepson Keith Thompson, brothers Frank, Bob, and Ted Blevins. She is survived by her son Mark Thompson of Hagerstown, IN, Julie (John) Bishop of Fishers, IN, stepson Rick Thompson of Punta Gorda, FL, grandchildren Angie (Erik) Pointer, Kristen DeJong, Karli (Blake) Bower, Austin Bishop, Jenna Bishop, Ethan Bishop, Jennifer (Brian) Ritchie, Jackie Thompson, great grandchildren Madison and Cody Pointer, Cash and Maggie-Mae DeJong, Caroline and Charlie Ritchie, Andrea Poppa, and sister and brother in law Kenneth and Mary Louise Cowen.

A celebration of life open house to honor Madge will be held on September 19th from 4-7pm. It will be held at 500 West Main St, Hagerstown, IN. Please come with stories, photos and memories to share.
