Katy L. (Walker) Dishman, 72, of New Castle passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Waters of New Castle. When she entered Heaven, Rachel was standing by the gate waiting for her. She was born February 10, 1948 in Monticello, KY, a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Jones) Dishman.

A 1966 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, Katy graduated from Anderson College with Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. A retired RN, she had worked for many years at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville and worked for Dr. Mendoza in Anderson when she retired. She loved shopping and loved her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Jon (Leisa) Walker of Markleville; son in law, Jeff Cotton of Fishers; five grandchildren, Zach Walker (Kaycee) and Taylor Walker, Cameron Dowling, and Norah and Silas Cotton; four step grandchildren, Leslie Smith (Nick), Chris Shock (Brandi), Tara Parke, Megan Smith (Jason); a great granddaughter, Ellie Epperly; multiple step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Hammond of New Castle and JoAnn (Larry) Lawson of rural Knightstown; two brothers, Doug Dishman of New Castle and Marty Dishman of Fishers; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Cotton; a brother, Gary Dishman; and a brother-in-law, Larry Hammond.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Larry Delon officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 a.m-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
