Joan M. Poindexter, age 80, of Centerville, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Ambassador Healthcare.

Born October 10, 1940, in Rossville, Illinois, to Harley and Catherine Lewis Cornell, Joan lived in Centerville most of her life. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1958. Joan was a member of Living Faith Church of God, where she was part of the Benevolence team, served as a greeter, and was active in the women’s ministry. She especially enjoyed supporting the women’s bake sales! Joan never met a stranger and always had fun lovingly teasing those she met. Joan loved attending her grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ school activities and enjoyed going to McDonald’s to have coffee and play rummy with her “friends”. Joan’s family and church meant everything to her.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Tammi) Poindexter and Kim (John) Moore, both of Centerville, Debbie (Mark) Mulinaro of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Traci (Ronnie) Bousman of Centerville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Terharr of Williamsburg, Indiana, and Kay (John) Carlson of Milford, Illinois; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; children’s father, Ralph Poindexter; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Tony Terharr and John Ingram.
