Charles “Charlie” E. Carson, 78, of Cambridge City passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born February 19, 1942 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Ernest C. and Tevis (Patterson) Carson.
Charlie retired from Visteon Ford Plant in Connersville following 35 years of service as a welder. He had a strong faith and loved serving the Lord. In his spare time, Charlie enjoyed farming, going to tractor pulls, riding horses but mostly spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Janie Carson; children, Rebecca (Rick) Crumbaugh of Cambridge City, John (Tye) Carson of New Castle; grandchildren, Leisa Wiley, Nathan and Matthew Carson; great granddaughter, Aria Wiley and his favorite horse, Tuffy.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Garner.
Visitation will be from 12:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the service starting at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary McCaslin officiating. Burial will be held privately at Raleigh Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
