Carol Ann Shell, age 79, died Friday, November 27, 2020, at Ambassador Healthcare.
Born September 25, 1941, in Richmond, Indiana, to Robert and Winifred Culbertson Boyce, Carol was a life-long resident of Richmond. She was a 1960 graduate of Richmond High School. Carol worked for a local dermatologist and Phillips Drugs prior to receiving her nursing degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Ivy Tech in 1970. She was a nurse for many years, working mainly at local nursing homes and extended care facilities. Carol loved taking care of her many patients over the years. She later worked for an insurance company in Dayton before retiring. Carol was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching detective shows and listening to country music. Carol loved her cats, and they were great companions for her.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy (Adam) Carman and Angela Shell, both of Richmond; grandchildren, Samantha (Max) Marolf and Ryan (Lauren) Carman; great-granddaughter, Elle Alexandra Marolf; extended family; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Donald E. Shell; parents; and stepmother, Mary Boyce.
Funeral service for Carol Ann Shell will be livestreamed at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020, on the Doan & Mills website. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
