Bennie Winters, 76, of Richmond, Indiana passed away unexpectedly December 23, 2020, at his home.

In 1944, Bennie was born to Lawrence and Peral Winters of Richmond, Indiana. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Judy Winters. A devoted dad to Marcia Bennett and Heidi Stolle. A doting Grandpa to Courtney Goodell, Matthew and Jacob Bennett and Joshua, Gunnar, and Mason Stolle. A loving Great Grandpa to Kaleb and Liberty Goodell and Ava Bennett. Bennie is also survived by his brothers Lawrence Winters and Danny Winters and his sister Elsie Turbeville and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim Winters, John Winters, Daryl Winters, Micky Winters, and Elmer Winters, and sister Alice Friedell.

Bennie attended Richmond High School. In 1966, he was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War. After receiving the Bronze Star Metal and being Honorably Discharged, he worked at the Red Barn, CSX Railroad, and finally retired from Smith Dairy in 2013.

Working in his yard was Bennie’s favorite pastime. Also, he enjoyed camping and vacationing with his family and anything do with railroads or trains. Lastly, he was an avid card player, QVC watcher and Coke drinker.

Funeral Services will be privately held. Friends may call from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Riggle-Waltermann Funeral Home.
