Benjamin James Coleman, 34, of Indianapolis and formerly of New Castle passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson after being struck by a car. He was born February 3, 1986 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of Dan Coleman and Cheri Werking.

An avid fisherman and loved playing basketball. Growing up he had a very loving and giving heart. He loved spending time with his son and nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his father, Dan (companion, Karen Alexander) Coleman; mother, Cheri (companion Randy Moon) Werking; two children Ashlyn and Luke Coleman; two sisters, Erica Stevens and Alicia (Josh) Dungca; aunt, Oleta Lorton; uncle, Steve (Judy) Coleman; grandmothers, Ruth Grider and Nancy Coleman; nephews, Dillan & Jameson Dungca and Arthur Stevens; and a niece, Eva Stevens.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Basil Coleman; brother-in-law, Artie Stevens; and aunt, Carol Gephart.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
