RICHMOND, Ind. – Billie B. Williams, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at his home after a long illness.

Born July 3, 1940, in Berea, Kentucky, to James and Garnett Swango Williams, Billie and his wife moved to Richmond in 1958. He worked as a foreman at Kemper Cabinet for 41 years. Billie loved working with kids and was the first director of the Fayette County Boys Club in Connersville, Indiana, where he served for several years. Billie was a big Colts fan and enjoyed watching Lefty Phil Mickelson play golf. He loved feeding the animals around his home.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Alice Faye Neeley Williams; daughter, Anjeanette Williams of Richmond; sons, James Williams of San Francisco, California, and Billie (Peggy) Williams of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; grandsons, Dillon and Austin Williams of San Francisco; sisters-in-law, Shirley Plemons of North Carolina and Hanne Williams of Clarksville, Tennessee; niece, Lisa (Jeff) Sherman of North Carolina; nephew, Steve (Rita) Williams of Clarksville; three grandnieces; one grandnephew; four great-grandnieces; aunt, Virginia Isaccs of Dayton, Ohio; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Delbert Williams Jr.; parents-in-law, Raymond and Vola Neeley; and several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to extend special thanks to SouthernCare Hospice for the care they gave to Billie.

Per Mr. Williams’s request, there will be no public services. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with Chaplain Tobby Smith officiating. Burial will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
