James L. “Jim” Hall Jr., 75, passed away Thursday morning June 14, 2018 at his home at the Leland Legacy in Richmond, Indiana. Jim was born in Cambridge City, Indiana on April 14, 1943. He has lived his entire life in the Western Wayne community and had worked in maintenance for Lee Cylinder and M.E. G. and retired from G & G Oil in Muncie. He served his country in the United States Army Reserve. Jim’s memberships include the Eagles Lodge in Connersville and a 53 year member of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169. He coached youth baseball in Cambridge City, was an avid fisherman and liked to watch wrestling and western movies on the television. His greatest enjoyment were all his grand children.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Tim (Renee) Hall and Bobby (Tonya) Hall both of Cambridge City; 4 grandchildren, Timothy, Taylor, Katelin and Ashlyn Hall all of Cambridge City; 2 step grandchildren, Kelsey Gagle of Decatur and Tyler Rupe of Florida; 3 great grandchildren, Kaden, Avyanna and Gage Hall; 3 siblings, Bill Hall of Indianapolis, Joan Bartell of Hamilton, OH and Nancy Taylor of Tennessee; half brother, Bud (Margaret) Barnes and half sister, Carol Sue Williams both of Cambridge City; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James L. Hall Sr.; mother, Mary (Bernard) Hall-Barnes; step father, Bill Barnes; sister, Betty Lou Moelk.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday June 19, 2018 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Monday June Jim’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Leland Legacy for the kindness and care extended to their dad during his stay.
