Jack U. Cox, age 59, of Centerville, Indiana, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Reid Health.
Born September 24, 1958, in Richmond, Indiana, to Jack L. and Susan Cox, Jack was a life-long resident of Wayne County. He was a 1976 graduate of Centerville High School Jack retired as an equipment operator for the Wayne County Highway Department. He was an honorary retired firefighter from Centerville Fire Rescue. Jack was a member of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighter Association for 30 years. He loved farming from an early age and after retirement enjoyed farming part-time for the Rohe Brother Farms and also worked part-time for the Town of Centerville. Jack attended Abington Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Dishmond Cox, to whom he was married on November 21, 1981; daughter, Jessica (Jason) Hinshaw of Centerville; grandchildren, Keiten, Ava, and Hadleigh; Tammy Smith, who was like a second daughter to him; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved step-mother, Linda Cox.

Visitation for Jack U. Cox will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville, with an IVFA service at 6:45 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
