Jack Bertsch, 76, of Greens Fork passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 28, 1941 in Richmond to the late Howard and Laurabelle (Plankenhorn) Bertsch.
He was a 1959 graduate of Hagerstown High School and worked at Dana in Richmond for 42 years as a machine repairman. Jack was a member of Hodgin Road Christian Church in Richmond. He loved the Lord and read his Bible daily. Jack enjoyed boating, John Deere tractors, cars, the outdoors, hunting mushrooms and Sunday suppers with his family. He especially loved spending time with his high school sweetheart, Autumn.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Autumn Bertsch of Greens Fork; children, Michele (Michael) Lauer of Fishers, Wendy (Tracy) Maddy of Fishers, Tony (Jessica) Bertsch of Southern Indiana; grandchildren, Clint Maddy, Jaclyn Lauer, Cody Maddy, Mackenzie (Andrew) Werling, Conner Maddy, Jonathan Lauer and Joshua Lauer; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Nancy Orcutt; half brother, Howard Bertsch and half sister, Katrina Lilly.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S. Memorial Drive New Castle, IN 47362, with Pastor Derek Trenum officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery near Hagerstown. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
