Cindy Jo Favorite, 59, of Hagerstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018, following a hard fought battle with brain cancer.
She was born on January 20, 1959 to Vernon and Joan Miller and lived her entire life in the Greens Fork and Hagerstown area. She was a 1977 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was employed at Earlham College prior to her illness.
Cindy loved to bake and make candy. She was a loyal Colts fan.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Dale ; a son, Dale Favorite, Jr.; 2 sisters, Cheryl Ballenger (partner Craig Lee) of Lynn and Nancy Parsons (Joe) of Kent WA; 3 brothers, Jack Miller (Ollie) of Richmond, Jessie Miller (Anita) of Hagerstown and Tim Miller (partner Patti Fowler) of Greens Fork.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Miller.
Services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 22, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Pastor Paul Gearhardt will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 PM on Thursday.
Rachel Jane Newton, 67, of Cambridge City, died Sunday, June 17, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born in Union City on February 21, 1951 to Robert and Ruth Ann (Hinshaw) Lumpkin and lived most of her life in the Losantville area. She had resided in Cambridge City for the past 4 years.
Prior to her illness, Rachel worked as a nurse, and was very proud to have earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Larry Newton, and a daughter, Jodi Warmoth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Lumpkin.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12 noon on Thursday, June 21, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will follow at 12 noon. Rev. Robert Fannin will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
