Charles Williams Conway, Jr., 90, of Lynn, IN passed away peacefully, early Saturday morning, December 23, 2017, at Rose Village Nursing Home of Richmond, IN. He was born August 6, 1927 in Jacksonburg, Indiana, the son of Charles W. and Irene Rose (Emrick) Conway. He honorably served in the US Army during WWII.
Charles retired after 35 years as a Inspector Supervisor at Anchor Hocking of Winchester, IN. He had also worked at Thornburg Grocery of Lynn, IN. He was a member of Union Chapel Church of Carlos, IN. He enjoyed spending his leisure time playing the guitar, enjoying music and flowers.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving daughter, Judith “Judy” Pegg (husband, Harold) of Richmond, IN; three grandchildren, Melissa Lundy (husband, Tim) of Las Vegas, NV, Stacy Hunt of Richmond, IN and Charles Pegg (wife, Cindy) of Nashville, TN; several great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nonnie Meyer (husband, Cecil) of Jacksonburg, IN, Nancy Andrews (husband, Curt) of Bloomington, IN; and a brother-in-law, Delbert Sherwood of Cambridge City, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife, Shirley (Bertram) Conway; a son, Jerry Conway; and a sister, Lois Mae Sherwood.
A service to celebrate Charles’s life was Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Thomas Memorial Chapel of Lynn, IN. Burial followed in Union Cemetery of Carlos, IN.
