Carolyn L. Doddridge, 76, of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, January 23 at Reid Health.
Born July 6, 1941 in Richmond, she was the daughter of William Larkin Green II and Dorothy Jeuitt Green.
Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Richmond High School. She worked 22 years as a teller and switchboard operator at First National Bank in Richmond; 15 years as a admitting clerk and switchboard operator at Randolph County Hospital; and six years as a cook at Friends Fellowship Community.
She enjoyed reading romance novels, spending time with her family, baking pies and making fudge. She had been active in Rural Youth for several years and attended the Centerville Church of the Nazarene.
Carolyn will be missed by her daughter, Michelle Farmer and her husband, Wayne; son, Michael Doddridge; grandson, Jacob Farmer; sisters, Patricia Ann Martin and her husband, Ken, and Sandra Webb; brother, Freddie Hardin and his wife, Della; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Debbie Doddridge, and Bob and Betty Doddridge; and several nieces & nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Doddridge, in 2007; brother, William Larkin III; and aunt, Katherine Jones.
Carolyn’s life will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 27, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Hollansburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11-12 on Saturday, January 27, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged for the family.
