Caroll Pentecost, 79, of Greens Fork, passed away and went to her Heavenly Home on Monday, July 16, 2018.
She was born in North Manchester on September 16, 1938 to Edgar and Lavonne (Butcher) Grossnickle, and lived most of her life in Wayne County.
Caroll was a long time employee of J.C. Penney in Richmond. She was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, and a member of AMVETS Post 38 and the Red Hat Society of Hagerstown.
Survivors include four children, Douglas M. Pentecost (Jeri) of Richmond, Thomas E. Pentecost (Lisa) of Greens Fork, Cindy M. Pegg (Charles “Chuck”) of Nashville, TN and Sandy M. Ogden of Lynn; a sister, Bonnie Canada of Mooreland; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; special friends Skip and Mary York; one niece and one nephew.
She is reunited in Heaven with her husband of 47 years, Jack A. Pentecost, who preceded her in death in 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charlie Ogden.
Visitation will be 10 AM to 12 noon on Thursday, July 19, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will follow at 12 noon. Pastor Tim Webb will officiate. Private burial in Greens Fork South Cemetery will follow at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Locust Grove Church of the Brethren or American Diabetes Association.
