STRAUGHN – Audrey “Mammy” Stewart, 90,  passed away Saturday evening December 30, 2017 at her home in Straughn, Indiana with her loving family at her side.

Audra Lee was born in Albany, Clinton County, Kentucky on September 18, 1927, the daughter of the late Sam and Linnie (Thompson) Shoopman.  She married Clarence Bradley Stewart in Albany, Kentucky on February 2, 1942.  They moved to Lewisville, Indiana from Kentucky in 1952 and have made their home in Straughn for many years.

A mother of 9 children, Audrey was a stay at home mom.  Known by Mammy to many, she was a loving mother and grandmother who loved raising her children, grandchildren and many neighborhood kids.   She enjoyed cooking, tending to the garden and her flowers.

Survivors include 9 children, Eugene  (Carolyn) Stewart of Tennessee, Lucille Pierce  and Betty Gosnell of Straughn, Janie Siggers of Cambridge City, Brad Stewart of Straughn, Tommy Stewart of Cambridge City, Nancy Stewart of Tennessee, Robert Stewart and Rhonda Stewart of Straughn; 30 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; 79great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Bill Shoopman of California.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband on April 29, 2009; 1 great great great grandson, Matthew Thomas Maynard; 2 siblings, Fred Shoopman and Eula Fairchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday January 4, 2018 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Pastor Dave Branham will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Lewisville Chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday January 3rd.
