RICHMOND, Ind. – Gary Lee Johnson, age 68, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home.
Born January 9, 1950, in Richmond, Indiana, to Jesse and Pansey Kelley Johnson, Gary was a life-long resident of this community.
He was a 1968 graduate of Richmond High School. Gary formerly worked for Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 661 for 35 years and then with his son for 12 years before retiring. He was a passionate member of the Vintage Wheels Car Club and was a member of the Richmond Elks Lodge #649, where he enjoyed playing golf.
Survivors include his daughter, Jillian (Mitchell) Stiner of Richmond; son, Rodney (Lindy) Johnson of Richmond; grandchildren, Lillian Johnson and Andrew Click; significant other, Esklyn Dunnington; sister, Linda Michelle (Rick) Richardson of Centerville, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Fay Johnson, who died May 29, 2013; parents; and brothers, Jesse David and George Johnson.
Visitation for Gary Lee Johnson will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Private entombment will be in the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum.
