Melanie Elaine (Parker) Conyers, 79, of Cambridge City, transitioned into the spiritual realm on Monday, January 2, 2017, after a short illness. She was born in Indianapolis on October 9, 1937 to Charles and Maude(Surber) Parker. Melanie grew up in Cambridge City and graduated from Lincoln H.S. in 1953. She married Donald Leroy Conyers on December 26, 1953 and was mother to Cynthia Ann, Gregory Donald and Jeffrey Charles.
Melanie was a loving and supportive wife and mother, as the family resided in various eastern states over the course of Don’s successful career with The American Water Works. The couple retired back to Cambridge City in 1994.
Melanie is survived by her daughter, Cindy, her husband David Mines of West Chester, OH and grandson, Dustin Hood and his husband, Rodolfo Mustafe and Timothy Mines. A son, Greg, his husband, Robert Davis of West Hartford, CT and grandchildren, Cameron and Casey. A grandson, Derek Conyers, his wife Karen Elliott and great-grandchildren, Aria Hope and Naomi Grace.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald on August 11, 2014 and her son, Jeffrey on February 19, 2011.
There will be a private family burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoction or the Cambridge City Public Library.
