Larry J. Necessary, age 66, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at his home.
He was born on March 30, 1951, in Richmond, Indiana. Larry had lived in this community most of his life. He worked as a machine operator for TimkenSteel and formerly worked at TS-Tech Indiana and H&S Precision Screw Products. Larry was also a retired minister at the Greens Fork Christian Church, Fountain City Church of Christ, and Northside Church of Christ in Richmond. He was a member of the Cambridge City Christian Church and a former member of the Fountain City Lions Club. Larry coached softball and baseball throughout Wayne County and was also a dirt volleyball coach.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carol Wall Necessary of Richmond; daughter, Sara Necessary of Milton, Indiana; grandchildren, Mallory, Emma, Shelby, Tateyona “TT”, and Chad; parents, Al and Joan Drake of Cambridge City, Indiana; sister, Brenda (Bill) Miller of Fountain City, Indiana; brother, David (Angie) Necessary of Lexington, Kentucky; additional family members; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad E. Necessary and his maternal grandparents, Wallace and Garnet Alvey.
Visitation for Larry J. Necessary will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jacksonburg Cemetery.
