Born March 16, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana, to Neal Chester and Ruth Edwards Kraft, Ken recently moved to Richmond. He graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville and attended the University of Evansville. Ken served in the U.S. Army in South Korea. He retired from George Koch Sons in Evansville after working for 39 years in estimating, sales, and engineering. Ken was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Evansville, an active member of the Evansville Tri-State Tres Dias Community, and a lifelong 4-H member, where he served as a leader. Ken also served as a founding member on the Board of Directors of the Electrocoat Association. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family. Ken’s favorite place in all the world was the Smoky Mountains.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary Ann Klausmeier Kraft; children, Aaron Neal (Catherine) Kraft of Blue Springs, Missouri, Matthew F. Kraft of Louisville, Kentucky, and Emily (Jeremy) Kraft Lundgren of Centerville, Indiana; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacqueline, Kayla, and Robert; siblings, Bob (Janice) Kraft, Bob (Phyllis) Driggs, Bob Hardesty, Pam (Bill) Helms, Bill (Anita) Kraft, Connie (Bob) Kinkle, Karen (David) Aldridge, Kathy (Jim) Preston, David (Debbie) Driggs, and Rick (Diane) Kraft; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Ruth; stepmother, Charlotte N. Kraft; and sister, Kay Hardesty.
Visitation for Kenneth Neal Kraft will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 East Main Street, Richmond with Pastor Chip Belanga and Pastor Aaron Kraft officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
