INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Julia M. Downs, age 90, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Willow Lake Place in Indianapolis.
Born May 22, 1927, in Centerville, Indiana, to Omer and Iva McClerney Crowe, Julia lived in this community most of her life. She retired from Belden in 1993, after 34 years of service. Julia had also been involved in rental properties, real estate, and investments.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas (Susan) Downs of Indianapolis and John (Joyce) Downs of Chicago, Illinois; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Downs, who died in 1995; parents; and brothers, Jacob Crowe, Daniel Crowe, and James Rogers.
Visitation for Julia M. Downs will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Deacon Frank Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
