Herbert Hoover Hutchings, 85, of Centerville died November 16, 2017 at his home.
He was born September 28, 1932 in DeKalb County, Tennessee and lived here most of his life.
He retired from the United States Air Force and served in the Viet Nam War. He also retired as an operating engineer in road construction and as a farmer.
Survivors include his children Herbert Hutchings Jr., Perry Hutchings, Shirley (Thomas) Robl, Tammy (Dave) Patti, Paul Hutchings, and Amy (Scott) Holt, 12 grandchildren, several grandchildren, one sister Katie Snyder, four brothers Tom (Jackie) Hutchings, John (Raylena) Hutchings, Junior and Jerry Hutchings, nieces and nephews.
His wife Bettie, who he married April 19, 1969, in Jellico, Tennessee, died April 13, 2006, his parents, and his other brothers and sister are also deceased.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday November 21, 2017 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev, James Girdley officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
