On Tuesday July 25, 2017 Elijah James Neal of Hagerstown, IN died unexpectedly. He is survived by his parents Chad and Meghan Neal, siblings Isaiah, Caleb, and Korah Neal. He will be greatly missed by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins.
From the very beginning it was clear Eli wanted to make a grand adventure out of life. And he did. With him a walk down to the creek by his house became a wilderness expedition; a lazy afternoon swimming in the pool became a backyard bash filled with endless laughter and Marco Polo; an evening stroll with siblings and cousins became a slumber party at Mimi’s. He found all that every day had to offer.
But that only tells part of his story. He was also a kind and generous soul; a leader on the basketball court; a best friend to many; and a member of a big and loving family. He had a smile and laugh that could light up a room, and a twinkle in his eye that shined a perfect blend of sweetness and mischief.
Eli’s legacy will be what every man should strive to leave behind, the memory of one with great character and decency toward others.
There was a celebration of Eli’s life at Hartley Hills Golf Club on Saturday, July 29. The family would like to express their thanks to Mike and Penny Wickes for their kindness in assisting with the celebration.
