CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Richard M. Pheanis, age 71, of Cambridge City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 6, 1945, in Camden, Ohio, Dick was a life-long resident of the Richmond area.
He graduated from Richmond High School in 1963 and attended Indiana Business College. Dick served in the Army Reserves. He retired from H&P Tool Company in 2015, after working there for more than 25 years. Dick had also worked at NATCO for 24 years. He loved attending car shows and showing cars. Dick enjoyed playing basketball and softball. He loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Teresa Blackburn Pheanis; daughter, Traci Galyean (fiancé, Jack Bodiker) of Richmond; son, Brandon (Heather) Darter of Richmond; grandchildren, Andrew Galyean, Emily Chaffee, and Haylee and Landon Darter, all of Richmond; great-grandson, Logan Chaffee; brother, Ronald Pheanis of New Carlisle, Ohio; two aunts; one uncle; cousins; and many friends, including his car show buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Richard M. Pheanis was from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard at 4:00 p.m. Funeral service followed at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Moses officiating.
