NEW CASTLE – Marlene Johnson, 76, passed away Sunday evening October 16, 2016 at Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Indiana.
A daughter of the late Harry Max and Edna Marie (Logan-House) Driver, Marlene was born in Richmond, Indiana on January 29, 1940.
She was a graduate of Richmond High School with the class of 1958 and had worked at Sears-Roebuck prior to her children being born. Marlene was a stay at home mom and enjoyed spending time with her family, baking in the kitchen and drives through the country. She was a foster grandparent, and attended the Salem United Methodist Church north of Straughn. Marlene moved to New Castle in 1992 where she worked for Heilig-Meyers Furniture Store.
Survivors include 2 children and their spouses, Fred and Michelle Johnson of West College Corner, Indiana and Christine and Jeff Ballenger of New Castle; 8 grandchildren, Dalton Johnson, Danielle Ames, Catelin Aucoin, Jeffrey (Jordan) Ballenger, Garett, Westley, Caitlyn and Aleyna Orr; 1 great grandson, Brayden Aucoin; 3 brothers, Michael (Lon) Driver of Lynnwood, WA, Marty and Malcom Driver both of Richmond; sister in-law, Janice Driver of Centerville and a special niece, Stacey (TJ) Robinson of Kentucky.
Visitation was from 4-6 p.m. on Friday October 21, 2016 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel.
