James A. Klein, 74, of Milton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 18, 2016.
He was born August 13, 1942 in New Castle, Indiana, one of six children born to Arthur and Anne Klein.
He was a 1960 graduate of Milton High School. On July 11, 1964 he married Evelyn Harmeyer at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Connersville.
He was a school bus driver for 40 years at Western Wayne Schools and a lifelong farmer. He had a passion for his wife, children, grandchildren cows and basketball. Watching his grandchildren play basketball and showing his cows were his greatest joys. As well as farming the land he loved.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Evelyn Klein; two daughters: Betsy Kelly and her husband, Neil of Goshen, Indiana, Robin Klein of Milton, Indiana; three sons: Rodney Klein and his wife, Kelly of Connersville, Indiana; Robert Klein and his wife, Rachel of Milton, Indiana and Brian Klein and his wife, Bonita of Milton, Indiana; nine grandchildren: Tyler, Michael, Kylei, Trey, Bryce, MacKenzie McClain-Klein; Ryan, Alison and Megan Kelly; four sisters: Judy Atkins and her husband, Schuyler of Indianapolis; Karen Kooiker and her husband, Jon of Olympia, Washington; Joan Oliger and her husband, Ted of Cambridge City, Indiana; Barbara Klein of Milton, Indiana; a brother, Robert Klein and his wife, Kathy of Greens Fork, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Anne Klein.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday December 23, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 333 W. Maple Street, Cambridge City, Indiana 47327. Reverend John Hall will officiate.
