CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. – Frederick H. Walters, age 85, of Cambridge City, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Reid Health.
Born April 9, 1931, in Richmond, Indiana, to Harry and Lelia Pope Walters, Fred was a life-long resident of Wayne County.
He was a graduate of Richmond High School. Fred served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired as a baker from the Richmond Baking Company. Fred was a member of the VFW Kirk-Little Post 1108, American Legion Harry Ray Post #65, Loyal Order of Moose, and Druids Lodge.
Survivors include his life partner, Betty Weilenman of Cambridge City, Indiana; daughter, Darleen (Jeff) Miller of Bardstown, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Adrienne (Thomas) Pfannerstill and Alanna (Brad) Osbourne; great-granddaughter, Maddie Pfannerstill; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue Ann Bane Walters; parents; sisters, Gertrude Warned, Barbara Smith, and Ruth Ann Walters; and infant brother.
Visitation for Frederick H. Walters will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Jeff Miller officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
