Teachers and other certified personnel in the Nettle Creek School Corporation will receive a 7% raise under terms of a contract that the school board expects to ratify Wednesday.
Teacher base pay will be $45,000 annually, an increase from the current $42,000, according to Emily Schaeffer, superintendent. Returning teachers who are rated “effective” or “highly effective” will get a 7% boost. The school corporation also is increasing its contribution to teacher health insurance.
Stipends paid for extracurricular activities such as coaching and sponsorships will increase by 15%. They have remained unchanged for several years.
The board heard a reading of the contract terms during a special meeting on Nov. 1. The Nettle Creek Classroom Teachers Association had ratified the contract earlier, Schaeffer said.
The board’s regular meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the LGI room at Hagerstown Elementary School, 299 N. Sycamore St. The public may attend.
