Fans of NBA player Desmond Bane have two opportunities to see him in town in July.

The Seton Catholic High School graduate, now a guard for the Orlando Magic, is returning to his hometown to host a charity golf outing and silent auction on Friday, July 24, at Elks Country Club.

That appearance is followed by his youth basketball camp on Saturday, July 25, at Richmond High School.

Through these events, Bane, 27, aims to continue giving back to the Richmond community and creating opportunities for local youth and families.

Residents can get involved through sponsorship opportunities, registering teams for the golf outing, participating in the silent auction or signing up for the youth camp.

The Baneville Academy camp is open from 9 a.m.-noon for third through sixth grades and 1-4 p.m. for seventh through 12th grades at Richmond High School, 380 Hub Etchison Parkway.

The cost is $75 per athlete and reservations are available at wwn.to/banecamp26.

Promotional materials say the skills camp will give athletes access to similar training concepts, progressions, and programming that have helped him reach his goals and continue to improve each season, as well as games and competition throughout the day.

According to Sports Illustrated, Bane was the Magic’s most consistent player in 2025-26. He started in all 82 games, where he averaged 20.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. This was his best season at the free-throw line (90.8%). He hit 39.1% of his three-pointers and 48.4% from the floor.

Alongside Bane and his trainer, Taylor Wayer, the camp includes several established professional coaches, athletes and high-level skill development trainers who share the same passion and energy for giving back and developing the youth as he does, the event’s website says.

The new golf outing begins with food at noon Friday, July 24, at Elks Country Club, 2100 U.S. 27 S. in Richmond. Tee time is at 1 p.m. for $500 per team. Reservations are available at wwn.to/banegolf26.
