Team Great Lakes (based in Hagerstown, Indiana) captured an electrifying 8-7 walk off win over Team Midwest (Davenport, Iowa) in opening-round play Thursday in the Little League World Series.

Preston Allred scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning in the David vs. Goliath matchup when an errant throw sailed over the first baseman’s head.

Team Great Lakes was to play at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, on ESPN, but the game was delayed because of rain, and was rescheduled to 5:20 p.m. on ESPN2.
