Renaissance food, shopping and entertainment are planned to benefit a performing arts venue.

Volunteers are again organizing a Valentine’s Madrigal Feast at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8, in Reid Center, 1004 N. A St., Richmond.

A marketplace will open the festivities. Revelers can purchase mementos and gifts and sip wassail as they peruse jolly booths.

A three-course medieval-inspired feast will be catered by Smiley’s.

Musical entertainment includes a guitar trio and the Indiana University East Richmond Chorale performing madrigal songs.

Revelers are encouraged, but not required, to don costumes fashionable during the Elizabethan era.

Tickets are $75 each, which may be purchased at reidcenter.org. More information is available at 765-966-7618.

Proceeds support preservation and maintenance costs for the historic church that includes 62 Tiffany Studios stained-glass windows. Other highlights include the carillon, a 1906 pipe organ made in Boston, and the only known 1905 Starr concert grand piano in existence.
