It’s unusual for a high school reunion to book a rock band for the entire community to enjoy, but that’s what Lincoln Middle/High School’s Class of 1976 has planned.
They have booked local band The Longshots to perform from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, on the new Creitz Park Pavilion behind the fire station, 127 W. Maple St., Cambridge City.
The public is invited to attend the concert at no cost; food trucks and Cambridge City Volunteer Fire Department will sell refreshments. Canal Days festivities are in the park throughout the weekend.
The Longshots play familiar tunes by artists including the Beatles and Doobie Brothers.
By Sept. 1, LMHS’ 1976 alumni are encouraged to either reserve a spot for their 4 p.m. gathering at the pavilion, 5 p.m. photo and designated area for the concert, or send regrets. They may call 608-438-2667, email 1976class.lincoln@gmail.com or complete a form at wwn.to/lhs76rsvp50. The class of 1976 also plans an informal gathering at 2 p.m. at Pilgrimage Winery, 2527 Treaty Line Road, Cambridge City.
Earlier that day, all LMHS graduates and teachers through 1990 are invited to the 9 a.m. breakfast at LMHS and 10 a.m. tours of recent renovations. Reservations are limited to 360 people and due by Sept. 1 for the $15 meal at wwn.to/lincolnbreakfast26.
