The Richmond Art Museum received a $500,000 grant from Lilly Endowment to support and strengthen its operations.

The gift was one of 12 Lilly Endowment grants dedicated to support Indiana art museums’ cultural impact in their communities and regions.

The grant allows RAM to execute a strategic and master facilities plan for growth in the region. The plan includes enhancing the current HVAC system to accommodate more significant artwork loans and to meet American Alliance of Museums standards. Other growth plans include enhanced security, climate controls, high-density storage and a new mobile education vehicle.

In a news release, RAM Executive Director Shaun Dingwerth said, “We are deeply grateful to Lilly Endowment for this transformative investment in the Richmond Art Museum and our community. This generous grant will strengthen our organizational capacity, enabling us to build a more sustainable future while expanding our ability to serve audiences through exceptional exhibitions, educational programming and community engagement.”

RAM is free and open to the public throughout the year. Learn more at richmondartmuseum.org or visit the museum at 350 Hub Etchison Pkwy, Richmond.
