The Northeastern Knights boys basketball team, ranked 16th in the 2A preseason poll, opened regular season play on Wednesday, Nov. 26, by hosting the Seton Catholic Cardinals. The Knights established themselves early, building a 22-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, then pushed their lead to 39-24 by halftime. Ten different Knights scored en route to a 68-42 victory that gave head coach Brent Ross his 285th career win at Northeastern.
Jarrett Leitner led the Knights and all game scorers with 14 points, Marshall Phillips scored 12 points and Brody Ross added seven points and a game high of 10 rebounds. Zach Robinson led the Cardinals with 11 points and Jackson Feist added 10 points.
