The Northeastern basketball team hosted Tri High with a chance to clinch at least a tie for the Tri-Eastern Conference championship. The Knights wasted no time Friday, Feb. 14, staking their claim to the crown. They raced to a 26-11 lead after the first quarter. The Titans spent the rest of the night playing catchup before losing 55-45.
Noah Payne led the Knights with 17 points, Tre Vanlandingham scored 14 points and Sam White scored 12 points.
To clinch the outright title, the Knights must defeat Winchester in their game on Friday, Feb. 21, in Fountain City.
