A portion of Wayne County’s Cardinal Greenway trail was scheduled to close on or after Monday, June 30, for work associated with the Interstate 70 expansion project, known as Revive I-70. It will remain closed until late this year.
The trail will end at Wayne Road for trail users traveling from the north toward the closure. It will end at Industries Road for trail users traveling from the south.
Revive I-70 includes improvements to Interstate 70 in Wayne County from west of Cambridge City to the Indiana/Ohio state line.
Shoulder strengthening is progressing for the interstate, and preconstruction activities are beginning in the western portion of the project corridor.
A reduced speed limit in the I-70 construction zone of 55 mph is in place for the duration of the work.
