After the opening of Hilltop Drive-In, the annual May antique fair in Cambridge City is one of Wayne County’s best signs that warm weather has finally arrived — and likely will stay.

This year’s Cambridge City Antique Fair takes place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, with the fall installment coming on Oct. 12. Admission is free for the rain-or-shine event.

The regionally promoted event draws Wayne County residents and those from nearby counties and metro areas who enjoy the relaxed, friendly atmosphere along the National Road.

Some just come to browse and socialize, while others aim to pick a treasure or even do some more rigorous shopping. They can visit a few dozen Midwest dealers temporarily set up along U.S. 40 and adjacent side streets as well as the town’s brick-and-mortar merchants.

A couple of food trucks will be set up and restaurants will be open for a quick bite or a leisurely meal.

To meet seasonal demand, some vendors will offer flowers, plants and other outdoor items.

Vendor spaces are still available for both the spring and fall dates. For more information, call Building 125 at 765-478-5000.
