Winter cold will eventually yield to warmer days, and it’s time for farmers markets to begin planning for summer Saturdays.

At least three Wayne County markets are recruiting potential vendors to offer baked goods, handmade crafts, produce, meat and other items.

  • Cambridge City: Cambridge City Main Street’s vendor callout meeting will take place at 7 p.m. March 31 at Golay Community Center, 1007 E. Main St., Cambridge City. The market seeks vendors to offer eggs, beef, chicken and pork along with corn. They also welcome handmade items such as pottery, artwork and woodworking. All vendors must produce the items being sold and categories must fall within the market’s guidelines. For more information, call 765-969-4824 or visit cambridgecitymainstreet.org.
  • Centerville: Vendor applications are now available for the market opening June 13. Potential products can include baked goods, sweets, proteins and produce as well as consumer products such as health and beauty items and custom 3D printing. Vendors’ season pass is $150 or daily participation is $10. Digital applications are available at forms.gle/mDAFgAA6Ub4Ft46F7.
  • Richmond: All vendors applying for the summer market at Elstro Plaza are required to attend a preseason meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10. Participants can gather from 6-7:30 p.m. at Springwood Park Pavilion, 64 Waterfall Road, for a pitch-in dinner, or watch online via Zoom.

New vendor applications are at forms.gle/gU74VnpLZtELUSAm9 and returning vendor applications are at forms.gle/FnQHbrzRSbxLyYkEA.

Paper applications are available at Saturday morning markets in Starr-Gennett Building, 101 S. First St., or at Glen Miller Park’s office, 2200 E. Main St., during business hours.

To be considered for the season’s first market on May 2, applications must be submitted by April 3.
